100ième et dernier message - 100th and last post

Et oui, nous voici arrivés au 100ième message de ce blog qui en sera également le dernier (j'ai pas fait exprès!) puisque je m'apprête à quitter Calgary demain midi. Les valises sont prêtes (incluant la totalité de mon équipement de hockey, que je n'ai pas pu vendre) et elles sont aussi prêtes à éclater tellement tous les recoins en sont utilisés... Je sens que je vais bien m'amuser pour les porter et je sens poindre les frais d'excédent de bagages...

Yes, we have reached the 100th post of this blog and it will be the last one (I did not do it for purpose!) since I am getting ready to quit Calgary tomorrow at noon. My bags are ready (including my entire hockey equipment since I could not sell it) and they are also ready to explode since every small piece of space is occuppied... It is going to be funny to carry them and I can see the exceeding weight luggage fees...

Je dis que ce sera le dernier message mais ce n'est pas tout à fait vrai car j'en mettrai un nouveau pour vous donner l'adresse de mon second blog qui va prendre le relais de celui-ci et parlera de "je-ne-sais-pas-encore-quoi" ce qui laisse présager le meilleur!

I am telling you that this is last post but it is not true since I will post one more time to give you the link to my second blog following this one and dealing with "I-don't-know-what-yet" which let you foresee the best!

Pour conclure, voici une photo prise par Marcio dans le restaurant Thaïlandais où Cathy, ma manageuse, m'a invité ainsi qu'une partie des gens avec qui j'ai travaillé pendant ces derniers six mois.

Dernier match de ping pong - Last ping pong match

Voici notre dernier match de ping pong avant que Frédéric ne parte skier à Whistler, à côté de Vancouver. Bien sûr j'ai encore perdu... mais je vais étudier son jeu et le battre la prochaine fois!

Here is our last ping pong match before Frédéric went skiing in Whistler, near Vancouver. Of course I have lost again... but I am going to study his game technique and beat him next time!

Bonne Année 2008 - Happy New Year 2008

Bonne année à tous et restez à l'écoute pour 2008 qui devrait voir la naissance d'un nouveau blog, qui portera un autre nom que "6 mois au Canada".

En attendant, voici ma dernière photo de Calgary en 2007 prise le 31 Décembre en allant travailler... ainsi qu'une petite photo de feu d'artifice ci-dessus (prise en Aout).

Tu vas pas en faire un fromage! - "You will not make a cheese..."

Je me dois de vous parler d'un grave problème... Le Canada, a un grave problème avec le fromage. Non seulement, les fromages n'ont pas l'air très ragoûtant mais en plus ils sont ultra cher et la plupart du temps plutôt dégueux!

I have to tell you about a big concern... Canada has big problem with cheese. Not only the cheese are not very attractive but they are also very expensive and most of the time disgusting!

D'autre part, je pense qu'il y a des claques qui se perdent tant les appellations utilisées sont bien loin du produit réellement vendu. Je ne pense pas que ces choses soit autorisées en Europe et j'espère que ça ne le sera jamais parce que c'est vraiment n'importe quoi.

Moreover, I think it is not normal that the used names are far from really designating the product sold. I don't think those things are allowed in Europe and I hope it will never be so because it's really nonsense.

Voici de la mozzarella! Et oui, la mozarella vient en une brique sèche de je sais pas quoi avec de l'arôme artificiel le tout pour $12,49 hors taxes... Ca donne envie!

This is mozarella! Yes, mozarella comes in a dry brick of who knows what with an artificial flavour added inside for $12.49 before taxes... So tempting!

Voici du "Derby à la sauge", fromage qui nous vient tout droit de la perfide Albion. Je n'ai pas goûté mais ça fait peur. Dans le sketch "La fromagerie" des Monthy Pythons, c'est l'un des multiples fromage que le client demande.

Here comes the "Sage Derby" is a direct import from the great England. I haven't tried it but it's frightenning. In the Cheese Shop sketch from the Monthy Python's, it is one of the numerous cheeses requested by the client.

Voici un fromage apparemment canadien mais fait de cheddar irlandais et de Guinness. Ca se passe de commentaire...

Here is what seems to be a canadian cheese but made of irish cheddar and Guinness beer. No comment...

Enfin le pire du pire.... Voici du Camembert et du Brie, oui mais du Camembert et du Brie danois!!! Comme tout le monde le sait, Camembert est une commune danoise et la région de la Brie se trouve également au Danemark... Il faut aussi savoir qu'apparemment le fromage français le plus connu et vendu ici est le Brie qui, à mon goût du moins, est l'un des fromages français les moins intéressant...

And now the worse... Here is Camembert and Brie, yes but Danish Camembert and Brie!!! As everyone knows , Camembert is a Danish town and the Brie region is in Danemark... Also, the most famous and sold French cheese seems to be Brie here which, to me at least, is one of the less interesting cheese...
